Important information regarding fees, refunds and service cancellations.

↻ Payment Policy
📅 Effective Date: 09 September 2026
Refund & Cancellation Information

Bharat Institute of Secondary Education (BISE) follows the below Refund & Cancellation Policy for fees and payments made towards admission, registration, examination, certification, correction, affiliation, and other institutional services.

01

General Policy

All payments made to BISE must be made through the officially authorised payment methods. Applicants, students, parents/guardians, institutions, and affiliated centres are responsible for reviewing the applicable fee, service, and eligibility requirements before making payment.

02

Admission & Registration Fees

Admission and registration fees paid towards processing an application or registration are generally non-refundable once the application/registration process has commenced.

Payment of a fee does not guarantee admission, registration approval, examination eligibility, or certification.

03

Examination Fees

Examination fees, once paid and the examination form has been processed, are generally non-refundable and non-transferable.

A refund may only be considered where BISE specifically announces or approves such refund under its applicable rules.

04

Certification & Documentation Fees

Fees paid for certificates, mark sheets, duplicate documents, migration documents, corrections, verification, or other academic documents are generally non-refundable once processing has commenced.

If a service cannot be provided due to an error attributable solely to BISE, the matter may be reviewed by the competent authority.

05

Cancellation by Applicant

An applicant may request cancellation of an application or service before processing, wherever cancellation is permitted under the applicable BISE rules.

Cancellation does not automatically entitle the applicant to a refund. Any eligible refund shall be determined by BISE after considering the nature and stage of the service.

06

Cancellation or Withdrawal by BISE

BISE reserves the right to suspend, cancel, reject, or withdraw any admission, registration, examination, affiliation, certification, or other service in cases including:

  • Ineligibility of the applicant
  • Submission of incorrect or false information
  • Submission of forged or invalid documents
  • Violation of BISE rules or regulations
  • Unfair means or examination malpractice
  • Fraudulent or unauthorized activity
  • Failure to meet prescribed requirements
  • Administrative, legal, security, or other circumstances requiring cancellation

Cancellation due to misconduct, false information, malpractice, or violation of rules will ordinarily not qualify for a refund.

07

Duplicate or Incorrect Payments

If a user accidentally makes a duplicate payment for the same service, the user may submit a refund request with valid transaction details.

Any duplicate payment refund will be subject to verification and approval by BISE and/or the relevant payment gateway.

08

Failed Transactions

If an amount is debited from the user's bank account but the BISE application or transaction is not successfully completed, the applicant should first verify the transaction status.

Where the payment has failed or remained unsuccessful, the amount may be automatically reversed by the payment gateway or banking institution according to its applicable settlement process.

If the amount is not reversed within the expected period, the applicant may contact BISE with the transaction/reference details for verification.

09

Refund Request Procedure

Where a refund is permitted, the applicant must submit a refund request through the official BISE channel.

Information that may be required:
  • Applicant/student name
  • Registration/application number
  • Mobile number and email address
  • Transaction/reference number
  • Date and amount of payment
  • Reason for refund
  • Proof of payment
  • Bank account/payment details where required

BISE may request additional documents or information before processing a refund.

10

Refund Processing

Approved refunds will generally be processed through the original payment method or through another method approved by BISE.

The time taken for the refund to reflect in the applicant's account may depend on the bank, payment gateway, or financial institution involved.

BISE shall not be responsible for delays caused by banks, payment gateways, technical systems, or other third-party service providers.

11

Non-Refundable Charges

Unless specifically approved by BISE, the following may be non-refundable:

  • Application/processing fees
  • Registration fees
  • Examination fees
  • Certification/document processing fees
  • Correction fees
  • Verification fees
  • Affiliation-related fees
  • Administrative/service charges
  • Any other fee expressly stated as non-refundable
12

No Cash Refund

Refunds, where approved, will normally be made through an authorised electronic or banking method. Cash refunds may not be provided unless specifically approved by BISE.

13

Third-Party Payment Gateways

Payments made through third-party payment gateways may be subject to the terms, processing procedures, and applicable charges of the respective payment service provider.

BISE shall not be responsible for charges imposed directly by banks, card issuers, payment gateways, or other financial institutions.

14

Fraudulent Transactions

BISE reserves the right to investigate suspicious, fraudulent, unauthorized, or disputed transactions. Any refund related to such transactions shall be subject to verification and applicable procedures.

Where fraud or misuse is established, appropriate action may be taken in accordance with applicable law and BISE regulations.

15

No Refund for Non-Usage

Failure to use a service after successful payment does not automatically create an entitlement to a refund.

For example, failure to appear for an examination, failure to complete an application, or failure to use an approved service does not by itself guarantee a refund.

16

Policy Changes

BISE reserves the right to modify, update, or amend this Refund & Cancellation Policy at any time. The revised policy will be published on the official BISE website and shall apply from the date specified.

17

Final Decision

All refund and cancellation requests shall be considered according to the applicable BISE rules and procedures. The decision of the competent authority of BISE regarding eligibility for a refund or cancellation shall be final, subject to applicable law.

18

For refund or cancellation-related queries, applicants may contact BISE through its official communication channels.
